George A. Boyd

Services for George A. Boyd, of Monticello, are 1 p.m. today,Jan. 16, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello with burial inProvidence Baptist Church Cemetery in Jayess.

Mr. Boyd, 82, died Jan. 14, 2007, at Lawrence County Hospital.He was born on Sept. 28, 1924, to George Washington Boyd and BessieLee Howell Boyd.

He was a pipefitter. He was a member of Topeka BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his daughter, DewannaElaine Boyd; five brothers and one sister.

Survivors are his wife, Betty Joe Roberts Boyd; his grandson,Robert Brian Rutland, of Jackson; his brother, James Boyd, ofArkansas; and two great-grandchildren.

Eva Nell Britt

Services for Eva Nell Britt, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Riverwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMacedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Britt, 83, died Jan. 14, 2007, at Brook Manor NursingCenter. She was born on Jan. 2, 1924, to Victor Smith and GraceSmith.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Macedonia BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother, JackSmith.

Survivors are her husband, Perry H. Britt; her sons, Gary D.Smith and wife Lora Faye, Robert D. Smith and wife Lynnette, andOscar O. Smith Jr. and wife Beth; her brothers, Shelby C. Smith andwife Pat, and Hollis Smith; her sister, Edith Rae Allred andhusband Alton; her grandchildren, Gary Paul Smith, Tracey Smith,Leanna Barfoot, Kate Smith, Anna Smith, and Oscar O “Trey” SmithIII; her great-grandchildren, Ty Smith, Clay Smith, Kelley Smith,Jaylie Barfoot, Braydon Smith, Britton Smith; and threegrandchildren and three great-grandchildren in Louisiana.

Pallbearers are Gary Paul Smith, Owen Smith, Andy Cain, TraceySmith, Stacey Smith, Tommy Nettles, Mike Smith and Tim Smith.

Honorary pallbearers are Sam Smith, Clinton and Peggy Allen, andMrs. Britt’s Sunday school class.

Beverly Ann Corban

Services for Beverly Ann Corban, of Meadville, are 11 a.m.Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Siloam Baptist Church in Franklin Countywith burial in the church cemetery. Franklin Funeral Home inMeadville is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home,and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at thechurch.

Mrs. Corban, 67, died Jan. 14, 2007, at Franklin County MemorialHospital. She was born in Franklin County on Oct. 17, 1939, toAlton Lewis Jordan and Maggie Myrtle Jones Jordan.

She was a purchasing contract clerk for the United StatesDepartment of Agriculture, Homochitto National Forest. She was amember of Siloam Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brother, WilliamJordan, and a sister, Francis Sutton.

Survivors are her husband, Frank Marvin Corban, of Meadville;her sons, Marcus Steven “Steve” Corban and Sherrill Lynn Corban,both of Meadville; her sister, Regina Faye Bishop, of Madison; andher grandchildren, Michael Lynn Corban and Caleigh JordanCorban.

Walter ‘Buddy’ Henderson

Services for Walter “Buddy” Henderson, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Thursday, Jan. 18, at Abundant Life Church in Brookhaven withburial in Hillcrest Cemetery in Brookhaven. Williams Mortuary is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from 1 until 5 p.m. at the funeral home,with family hour from 6 until 7 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Henderson, 80, died Jan. 12, 2007, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. He was born in Lincoln County on Feb. 8, 1926, toWalter Henderson Sr. and Pinkie Henderson.

He was retired from Phillip Brothers Lumber Co. He was a memberof Abundant Life Church.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Evangelist Eunice BrowderHenderson; his brothers, Edgar Lee Henderson, Leon Henderson,Arlustra “Pap” Henderson Sr., Evins Henderson Sr., and HermanHenderson; and his sister, Lenora “LC” Bell.

Survivors are his sons, Pastor Walter Henderson III and his wifeJoycelyn, of Hartford, Wis., and Pastor Ronnie Henderson and hiswife Francise, of Brookhaven; his daughters, Linda Warren andhusband Larry, of Brookhaven, Patricia Williams and husband Curtis,of Union Church, and Darlene Hollie and husband Jimmie, ofTylertown; his adopted daughters, Shirley Mallory and husbandCornelius, of Vicksburg, Catherine Logan, of Memphis, Tenn., andEvelyn Williams, of Indianola; his 17 grandchildren, 25great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; his brother,Willie Lee Henderson and wife Louvenia, of Brookhaven; his sister,Ada Bessie Banks, of Brookhaven; his sisters-in-law, ChristineHenderson and Margaret Henderson, both of Brookhaven; hisbrother-in-law, Joseph Bell, of Brookhaven; and many, many belovednieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
