MERIDIAN — After blowing a 20-point lead in the second half,Co-Lin sophomore forward Greg Truvillion came though for theWolves. Truvillion scored 8 consecutive free throw in the final1:32 of the game to secure Co-Lin an 85-78 South Division win overthe Meridian Eagles.

The No. 12 nationally-ranked Co-Lin women put away Meridian88-75.

Co-Lin hosts division rival Gulf Coast Monday at MullenGymnasium for a doubleheader. The women kick off the action at 6p.m. followed by the men.

Co-Lin 85, Meridian 78

Coach Dennis Sims’ Wolves pushed their overall worksheet to 11-3and are also unbeaten in the division with a 3-0 record.

“After leading by as many as 20 points in the second half,sophomore Greg Truvillion’s free throw skills secured the win,”said Sims. “Truvillion made 8 straight free throws in the last 1:32of the game.”

Truvillion finished as the leading scorer for the Wolves with 22points. He also pulled down 8 rebounds.

The Wolves led the Eagles 41-30 at halftime.

“We made this game much harder than it should have been,” addedSims. “We had a 20-point lead with 12 minutes to play and failed tokeep up our intensity. Meridian kept coming at us and we startedplaying not to lose. This was the first time this season tat wehave five players scoring in double figures.”

The Wolves got 17 points 17 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assistsfrom Christian Marshall. Following with 17 points 7 rebounds, 4steals and 6 assists from sophomore guard Charles Lewis. CoreyLondon netted 13 points and made 4 steals. Darrell Johnson followedwith 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

Pacing Meridian (4-11) with 17 points was Sanchez Johnson. ChrisLeggett fired in 15 points followed by Keith James with 13. DexterLeFlore followed with 11 points. Regis Huddleston had 10 points.Maurice Naylor led off the backboards with 6 rebounds.

Co-Lin 88, Meridian 75

The Lady Wolves, coached by Gwyn Young, improved to 14-1 overalland remain undefeated at 4-0 in the division.

Co-Lin held a 35-32 lead over Meridian at the half.

“In the first half, we had some good stops on defense but wehave to be more consistent on defense,” said Young. “We scored wellfrom inside and outside. We go into some foul trouble and had tosit Erica Trahan for the first seven minutes of the second half.Nikki Williams led in the first half with 12 points and AlishaMason with 8.”

At the start of the second half, the Lady Wolves outscored theLady Eagles 19-9 in opening minutes to pushed their lead to 13points, 54-41.

“In the second half, Hanna Porter had 12 points, Trahan 12points, Williams 10 points and Mason 9 points,” added Young. “Werebounded well in the second half with Trahan’s 11 for the game. Itwas a good offensive game. It was a good win on the road.”

Powering the Lady Wolves was Williams with 22 points. Trahanfinished with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Porter and Mason tied with17 points each. Collecting 9 rebounds was Kristin Ellis. Porter andWilliams had 7 rebounds apiece. Mason blocked 5 shots.

NaDosha Strickland had 19 points for the Lady Eagles (12-8,2-2). Anesia McBride followed with 16 points.
