Charles Kindel Collinsworth

Services for Charles Kindel Collinsworth, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapelwith burial in Riverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation is Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Collinsworth, 77, died Jan. 28, 2007, at his residence. Hewas born on Feb. 7, 1929, to Clarence Kimble Collinsworth andMaggie Pearl Gamil Collinsworth.

He was retired from Texas Eastern Corp., after 35 year ofservice. He was a member of Jackson Street United Methodist Churchin Brookhaven. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during theKorean conflict. He was a Mason in Bryceland, La.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Steve KindelCollinsworth Sr.; his brothers, J.D. Collinsworth, HaroldCollinsworth, Lonnie Collinsworth and Jim Collinsworth, all ofLouisiana.

Survivors are his wife, Charlene Davis Collinsworth, ofBrookhaven; his daughters, Susan C. Allen and husband Reggie, andSandra C. Rushing and husband Charles V., all of Brookhaven; hisdaughter-in-law, Cindy Collinsworth, of Brookhaven; hisgrandchildren, Stephanie R. Reynaud, Emily A. Childress, CollinsAllen, and Smythe Person, all of Brookhaven; Kindel Collinsworth,of Brandon; Brenton Collinsworth, of Walker, La., and AmberCollinsworth, of Lafayette, La.

Memorials may be made to Jackson Street United Methodist Churchin Brookhaven.

Areace ‘Sis’ Jones

Services for Areace “Sis” Jones, of Brookhaven, are 1 p.m.Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Macedonia M.B. Church in Brookhaven withburial in Carver Heights Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in chargeof arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Jones, 82, died Jan. 25, 2007, at her residence. She wasborn in Brookhaven on July 2, 1924, to Ben Bledsoe and GenallaBledsoe.

She attended the Gulledge School in Brookhaven. She wasself-employed and the owner of a janitorial service. She was amember of Macedonia M.B. Church and a member of the Mother’sBoard.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her daughters,Bridgette Williams, Roberta Lee and Barbara Taylor; her brothers,Samuel Bledsoe, Eddie Bledsoe, Ellis Bledsoe and Otis Bledsoe; hersister, Eugenia Smith; her grandsons, Keith Newton, Farrell Jonesand Dwight Dewayne Jones; and her great-granddaughter, KikiTaylor.

Survivors are her husband of 67 years, Robert Jones, ofBrookhaven; her sons, Robert Earl Newton and wife Jeanette, SamuelAnthony Jones and James Earl Jones, all of Brookhaven; herdaughters, Dorothy Hunter and husband Robert, Linda Collins, PamelaFields and husband Jimmie, Lillian Bridges and husband Ronnie, andWydell Dixon and husband Luther, all of Brookhaven, and VenettaVaugh and husband Ray, of Delta City; her 37 grandchildren, 47great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
