Jessie ‘Shaky’ Walker Jr.

Services for Jessie “Shaky” Walker Jr., of New Orleans, La., are2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Sontagwith burial in the church cemetery. R.E. Tyler Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is Saturday at the church from 1 p.m. until the timeof the service.

Mr. Walker, 77, died Jan. 28, 2007, at University Medical Centerin New Orleans. He was born on Aug. 31, 1930, to Jessie Walker Sr.and Tera “Doll” Tyler Walker.

He was a retired longshoreman with T. Smith & SonStephendorf, of New Orleans.

His father preceded him in death.

Survivors are his mother, Tera “Doll” Tyler Walker, of Sontag;his sons, Charles Cole, of Saint Marys, Ga., and Clarence Walker,of Gonzales, La.; his daughter, Sandra Walker Parker, of NewOrleans; his brothers, Frankie D. Peyton, of Laurel, and ThomasJohnson, of Jackson; his sisters, Margie Roberts, of PeachtreeCity, Ga., JoAnn Jinks and Betty Evans, both of New Haven Conn.;and his four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
