Kirk Conerly

Services for Kirk Conerly, of Clinton, are 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb.13, at Tylertown Baptist Church, with burial in Tylertown Cemetery.The Revs. Buddy Day and Kenny Adams will officiate.

Visitation is Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Conerly, 23, died Feb. 10, 2007, near Carthage. He was bornin McComb, on Feb. 20, 1983, the son of Shannon Hughes Grubbs, ofMagnolia, and Roane Conerly, and Brent Grubbs, of Tylertown.

He was a nurse in the intensive care ward at River RegionHospital in Vicksburg. A graduate of Tylertown High School, hereceived his nursing degree from Mississippi College in 2006. Priorto his graduation, he worked at Beacham Memorial Hospital inMagnolia. He was known as a very compassionate and capable nursewho brought much joy and sunshine to the patients and co-workers inhis unit. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved life. Full of joy,he loved people and especially enjoyed spending time with hisfriends and family. All those who knew him will always remember hisvibrant, loving and fun spirit.

Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, E.C. andVoudie Hughes.

Survivors are his parents; his brothers, Gabe Grubbs, ofHammond, La., Gage and Grey Conerly, both of Tylertown; his sisterand husband, Amanda and Paul Rawson, of Byram; his paternalgrandparents, Henry Grubbs, and John and Lola Mae Conerly; awonderful, compassionate father-figure, Carl Landen, of Magnolia;and numerous other family members and friends.

Pallbearers are Christopher Bracey, Josh Johnston, Garrett May,Cooper Nordan, Eric Toney, Ben Waskey, Stephen Weeks and TonyYancey.

Ralph M. Delaughter

Services for Ralph M. Delaughter, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Monday, Feb. 12, at Community Funeral Services with burial in UnionHall Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the serviceat the funeral home.

Mr. Delaughter, 75, died Feb. 11, 2007, at his residence. He wasborn on June 6, 1931, to Brace Delaughter and Beulah DelaughterMartin.

He was disabled. He was a member of Brookway Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, EddieDelaughter; his daughter, Patsy Williams; his grandson, Dale M.Delaughter; and his great-grandson, Peyton Banks.

Willie Lee ‘Bay-Bay’ Jackson

Services for Willie Lee “Bay-Bay” Jackson, of Brookhaven, are 11a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, at Center Street Church of Christ inBrookhaven with burial in Bogue Chitto Cemetery. Williams Mortuaryis in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jackson, 65, died Feb. 10, 2007, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center. He was born on Aug. 1, 1941, to A.J. Kellyand Annie Lee Jackson-Tanner.

He was retired from his job as an employee with the City ofBrookhaven. He attended Alexander High School. He was a member ofCenter Street Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his father; his son, MichaelJackson; and his sister, Vernon Davis.

Survivors are his wife, Cora Robinson Jackson, of Brookhaven;his sons, Willie Lee Jackson Jr., of Bogue Chitto, Kenneth RayJackson, of Brookhaven, Reginald Van Clayton, of McComb, and JamesDewayne Vance, of Jackson; his daughters, Erica Jackson and BrandiJackson, both of Brookhaven, and Carolyn Oakman, of Akin, S.C.; hissisters, Lovey Hairston and Rosie Tillman, both of Ogden, Utah; andhis 12 grandchildren.

Makayla Deserae Lawrence

Infant Lawrence was born on Feb. 9, 2007, to Joshua Royer andCandace D. Lawrence.

She died Feb. 9, 2007, at King’s Daughters Medical Center.

Carey Andrew Martin

Services for Carey Andrew Martin, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Monday, Feb. 12, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel withburial in Riverwood Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Martin, 28, died Feb. 10, 2007, at the University MedicalCenter in Jackson. He was born on June 21, 1978, to Gary Martin andCathy Moak Martin.

He was a directional driller with Professional Directional LTD,of Conroe, Texas. He was a member of the Baptist faith. He was anavid hunter, devoted husband, father, son and brother, who lovedlife and treasured every moment with them. He was a great personwho was loved by everyone.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, H.B. and VeraMartin, and Andy and Laura Moak; and his two uncles, Paul and BuddyMoak.

Survivors are his parents; his wife of 11 years, Brandy DayMartin, of Brookhaven; his father- and mother-in-law, Randy andHelen Day; his daughters whom he dearly loved and spent all histime off with, Tristyn Nicole Martin, age 8, Savanna Leigh AnnMartin, age 7, and Karli Abigail Martin, age 3, all of Brookhaven;his brothers, Michael Martin and wife Deborah, and Marty Martin,all of Brookhaven; his sister, Lori Martin Case, of Brookhaven; hisbrother-in-law, Bruce Butler and wife Kim, of Brookhaven; hissister-in-law, Kim Bullock and husband Dwayne, of Brookhaven; andhis nephews and nieces, Jonathon and Kayla Martin, Racheal andNikki Case, Austin and Heather Martin, Holden and Reid Butler, andJerred, Peyton and Marleigh Bullock; and a host of special aunts,uncles, cousins and friends.

Frances M. Oberschmidt

Services for Frances M. Oberschmidt, of Brookhaven, were 11 a.m.Monday, Feb. 12, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inRosehill Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Mrs. Oberschmidt, 97, died Feb. 9, 2007, at Haven Hall HeathCare Center. She was born on Feb. 4, 1910, to F.V. McRee and LouiseMcCalip McRee.

She was retired from her work as chief resident advisor atCopiah-Lincoln Community College. She was a member of FaithPresbyterian Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Jesse TedOberschmidt; her brothers, Marion R. McRee and Thomas I. McRee; andher sisters, Bette V. Stewart, Loyce M. Bee and Yvonne M.Cheairs.

Survivors are her daughters, Glenda O. Masselink, of GreenAcres, Fla., and Karen O. Warne, of Wichita, Kan.; her specialfriends, Ron and Marci Wolff, of New Orleans, La.; and her threegrandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one stepgrandchild andthree great-stepgrandchildren.

Mrs. Peyton, 64, died Feb. 8, 2007, at her residence. She wasborn in Brookhaven on Jan. 12, 1943, to T.H. Maxwell and AliceMaxwell.

She was retired. She was a member of St. Paul M.B. Church.

Preceding her in death were her father; her husband, Murphy LeePeyton, and her brother, Jessie James Maxwell.

Survivors are her mother, Alice Maxwell, of Oklahoma City,Okla.; her son, James Earl Maxwell Sr. and wife Addie, ofBrookhaven; her brothers, Roosevelt Maxwell and wife Anita, ofOklahoma City, the Rev. Thomas Maxwell, of Jackson, and LonnieMaxwell, of Brookhaven; her sisters, Ora Evans, and Lillie Bryantand husband S.Q., all of Brookhaven; her aunt, Jessie Lee Johnson,of Brookhaven, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
