Gloria Smith Austin

Services for Gloria Smith Austin, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Monday, Feb. 19, at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer inBrookhaven. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge ofarrangements.

Mrs. Austin, 73, died Feb. 18, 2007, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born on June 13, 1933, to James R. Smith and RubyOra Vincent Smith.

She was a retired traffic manager and a member of the Women inTraffic. In 1982, she was named Woman of the Year (SouthwestTraffic Association Managers). She was a member of Episcopal Churchof the Redeemer.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Ural B.Austin.

Survivors are her daughters, Melinda A. Said and husband MichaelSaid, Melissa A. Rogé and husband Russell N. Rogé, and Melanie A.Stephens and husband Randy K. Stephens; her brother, Richard Smith;her sister, Wanda S. Millican; and her grandchildren, BrantleyStephens and wife Carrie Stephens, Austin E. Said, and Marissa J.Rogé.
