Holli Smith ripped a triple and a single to lead the host WestLincoln Lady Bears fastpitch softball team to a 5-3 win over theLoyd Star Lady Hornets Wednesday night.

Heather Huff (1-0) was the winning pitcher with 1 strikeout and1 walk. Brooke Delaughter (0-1) took the loss, fanning 8 battersand walking 4.

Contributing to the West Lincoln win with a pair of singles wasKacey Smith. Huff followed with a single. The Lady Bears arecoached by Andrew Redd.

“We had some first game mistakes,” said Loyd Star fastpitchcoach Jan Delaughter.

Calleye Douglas and Annie Smith each singled twice for LoydStar. Haley Sones and Ariel Hunsucker doubled. Hitting safely wereBrittany Beeson, Carrie Moak and Lindsey Ducksworth.

Loyd Star hosts Franklin County today for two games. On Friday,West Lincoln visits Franklin County.
