A memorial mass for Mary Fogarty Miller, of Madison, will beheld at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at St. Peter’s CatholicCathedral in Jackson. Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home on HighStreet in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.

A reception will be held at the Miller home following themass.

Mrs. Miller, 68, died Feb. 21, 2007, at St. Dominic-JacksonMemorial Hospital in Jackson.

She was born on Nov. 6, 1938, in Queensland, Australia, thedaughter of the late Ralph and Emily Fogarty. She spent her earlyyears in Australia, surrounded by her seven brothers and sistersand extended family. It was there that she met a young submarineofficer who later became her husband. At the tender age of 20, Marycourageously ventured to the United States to become a Navy wife.She accompanied her husband throughout his career, living andraising their children throughout the United States, first settlingin Norfolk, Va., and later in Madison. She was known for her zestfor life, her special love for the beach, and her horses.

She will be remembered by her family as a loving wife of 49years, a beloved and cherished mother, and a devoted and caring”Nanna” to her grandchildren.

Survivors are her husband, Cmdr. Robert N. Miller USN (retired),of Madison; her son, Cmdr. Robert N. Miller Jr., MC, USN, and wifeLisa, of Jacksonville, Fla.; her daughter, Diedre A. Renstrom, ofNorfolk, and Susan M. Ross and husband Dr. Jeffery Ross, ofBrookhaven; her grandchildren, Dustin James Farrell, Robert ScottRenstrom, Andrew Lloyd Renstrom, all of Norfolk, James MaxwellMiller, of Jacksonville; and many loving family and friends livingin Australia and Europe.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association orCatholic Charities in Jackson.
