Services for Monroe Mitchell Jr., of Natchez, are 1 p.m.Thursday, March 1, at New Jerusalem M.B. Church in Brookhaven, withburial in St. Luke Church Cemetery in McCall Creek. WilliamsMortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Mitchell, 63, died Feb. 19, 2007, at his residence. He wasborn on April 26, 1943, to Monroe Mitchell Sr. and Addie MaeMitchell.

He was disabled. He attended Lillie Mae Bryant High School.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister and sevenbrothers.

Survivors are his son, John Ladell, of Jackson; his daughters,Julia Mae Ladell, of West Point, Frances Stennis, of Phoenix,Ariz., Sharon Johnson and Chemekia Collins, both of Shaw; hisbrothers, Charles Washington, of Pomona, Calif., Leroy Baily, ofAlabama, and Shelby Mitchell, of Brookhaven; his 21 grandchildren,and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Norman Rayburn Young Jr.

Services for Norman Rayburn Young Jr., a native of Wilmer, Ala.,are 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home inSemmes, Ala., with burial in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is Wednesday from 11 a.m. until until the time of theservice at the funeral home.

Mr. Young, 33, died Feb. 23, 2007, at his residence.

He worked in the construction industry as a roofer for severalyears.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Ed and MaudeFauver, and Ola Lee Young.

Survivors are his parents, Norman and Betty Young, of Wilmer;his sisters, Vickie Buettner, of Daphne, Ala., and Jane Workman,and Susan Young, both of Semmes; and other relatives andfriends.

Hallie M. Watson

Services for Hallie M. Watson, of Brookhaven, are 10 a.m.Friday, March 2, at Faith Presbyterian Church in Brookhaven withburial in Ben Salem Cemetery in Brookhaven. Brookhaven Funeral Homeis in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of theservice at the church.

Mrs. Watson, 97, died Feb. 27, 2007, at her residence. She wasborn in Eddiceton on July 12, 1909, to Edgar K. McMillan and MaryEmma Watson McMillan.

She was a retired factory worker. She was a member of FaithPresbyterian Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, DanielWatson; her sisters, Frances Davis and Ida Mae McMillan; and herbrothers, James, Dougal and Paul McMillan.

Survivors are her sons, Calvin Watson and wife Carolyn, ofMadison, and John Watson and wife Wilma, of Brandon; and hergranddaughter, Blythe Harris and husband Jerry, of Hernando.

Sina Nevels West

A graveside service for Sina Nevels West, of Kenner, La., willbe held at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Union Church Cemetery inUnion Church. Harrigill Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from 9 until 11 a.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. West, 93, died Feb. 26, 2007, at Waldon Health Care inKenner. She was born in Bethesda in Jefferson County on April 17,1913, to Shirley and Fannie Shelton Nevels.

She was a teacher in Fayette before moving to New Orleans, La.,where she was the personnel director of D.H. Holmes for 33 years.She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church inDiamondhead, where she had moved upon her retirement. She wasactive with the Pink Ladies, and many other organizations.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brother, JamesNevels; and her sisters, Julia Smith, Dorothy Tanner and BerthaBrown.

She was the loving mother of Carden “Sonny” West and his wife,Patty West. Her spirit lives with her grandchildren, Amy Hall-West,of New Orleans, Jason West, of Kenner, and David West, of BelleChase, La., and great-grandchildren, Heather, Christian and HaydenWest; and sister of Francis Robert.
