BOGUE CHITTO — Candace Avants ripped 3 singles Monday night tolead the Bogue Chitto Lady ‘Cats to an 11-1 division win over theWest Lincoln Lady Bears.

West Lincoln committed 7 errors to Bogue Chitto’s 2.

Bogue Chitto (1-5, 1-0) hosts St. Aloysius Thursday at 5 p.m.and 6. West Lincoln fell to 6-4 on the season and 2-2 in thedivision.

“We hit the ball and put it in play,” said Bogue Chitto girlscoach Scott Leggett. “Our pitching and defense were good.”

Bogue Chitto led 3-0 until the sixth inning. West Lincoln scored1 run but the hosts came back with 8 runs to end the game.

Kelli Howard was the winning pitcher with 3 strikeouts and 1walk. Heather Huff fanned 1 batter and walked none in the losingcause.

Adding support at the plate for the Lady ‘Cats were CaitlinOwens, Chelsey Miller and Howard with 2 singles apiece.

“We did not make out plays on defense,” said West Lincoln coachAndrew Redd. “Their speed killed us.”

Kacey Smith doubled for the Lady Bears.

Junior varsity action

West Lincoln knocked off Bogue Chitto 8-4 in JV play. Cookposted the win and Toy Smith absorbed the loss.

Leading the ‘Cats with a double and a single was Caitlin Owens.Amanda Owens and Hannah Holmes doubled.

Makayla Smith doubled and singled for the Lady Bears.
