Services for Lucy Elizabeth Drumright Cox, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. Sunday, April 1, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burialin New Zion Cemetery in Lawrence County.

Visitation is Saturday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cox, 87, died March 28, 2007, at her residence. She was bornin Lawrence County on Sept. 11, 1919, to Henry Mervyn Drumright andJessie Maxwell Drumright.

She was retired from bookkeeping and sales, having worked for manyyears at the Shirley Slipper Shop, and also doing bookkeeping workwith the Boston Shoe Store, and Stahl-Urban. She was a member ofEasthaven Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She was a memberof Paradise Sam’s Campground Group and Wesson Rebel Riders. Sheloved to sew and was famous for her homemade scratch biscuits.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Howard HollisCox; her son, Howard Glen Cox; her brother, Benny Drumright; hersister, Lee D. Vincent; her stepbrother, Tommy Cox; and herstepsister, Nell Cox Davis.

Survivors are her daughters, Barbara A. Carrillo and husbandHerman, of Tucson, Ariz., and Bettie M. Gregory and husband WilliamFranklin, of Lemoore, Calif.; her brother, James R. Drumright, ofOcean Springs; her stepsister, Dorothy Hill, of Brookhaven; hergrandchildren, Tammy Johnson and husband Gregory, of Lusby, Md.,Kathleen Roorda and Dawn Thomas, both of Lemoore, Howard Carrilloand Noel Carrillo, both of Tucson; and her great-grandchildren,Gregory Lucio, of San Francisco, Calif., Margaret Lucio and EmilyJohnson, both of Lusby, Joseph Roorda, Grant Roorda, MaxwellRoorda, Reed Romiero and Bethany Romiero, all of Lemoore.
