Co-Lin wins pair from Pearl River

WESSON — The Co-Lin Wolves swept the Pearl Rivers Wildcats tocapture a pair of big South Division wins Tuesday night at SullivanField. Co-Lin won the opener 9-3 and the finale 6-2.
Thursday’s scheduled game at Mississippi Delta has been moved toFriday. The first game of the doubleheader kicks off at 1 p.m.
Co-Lin improves to 17-13 and 4-0 in the South. Pearl River fellto 17-14 on the season and is also 4-4 in division action. TheWildcats entertain Delgado Thursday.
“It was a big win for us,” said Co-Lin head baseball coach KeithCase. “It puts us back in the hunt for things. It was 2 pressuregames.”

Joseph Langham (4-2) was the winning pitcher in the first game.Brennan Hodge (4-3) absorbed the loss.
Co-Lin led trailed 2-1 after the first inning. The Wolves wentup 4-2 in the second then added 5 runs in the fourth and 1 in thesixth to secure the win.
Catcher Ryan Hoben powered the Wolves at the plate with a homerun and a single. Montez Chatman singled 3 times. Doubling wereTimmy Foster and Taebyus Smith.
Pearl River got a 2-run homer from Heath Stevens. Johnny Allenand Jeremy Green followed with 2 singles apiece. Doubling wasDaniel Lawrence.
CO-LIN 6, PEARL RIVER 2
In the second game, the Wolves struck early on the Wildcats andled 3-0 after 3 innings. Brandt Hinton (5-2) posted the win asHoben got the save in the sixth and seventh innings. ChrisHartfield (3-3) took the loss. Also see action was Kyle Lindsey.beginning in the third.
Brandon Chretien led Co-Lin with a double. Chatman singledtwice.
Pacing Pearl River with a double was Greene. Nick Smith singledtwice.
“We swung the bats extremely well,” added Case. “They were gooddivision wins.”
