Woman indicted in man’s death

A 30-year-old Brookhaven woman has been indicted on a murdercharge stemming from a November incident in which she allegedly ranover her boyfriend during a domestic dispute.

Lawanda Dillon, of 631 Booker Ave., was served with theindictment and arrested by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s DepartmentThursday morning. She has since been released on bond.

Dillon was charged in the death of 32-year-old Boris E. Jackson,also of Brookhaven. The murder indictment was filed April 5 inLincoln County Circuit Court.

Dillon is charged with running over Jackson with her car as hewas walking down Turner Street late on the evening of November 17.He was pronounced dead on the scene.

District Attorney Dee Bates was not able to elaborate on theinvestigation or the case, except to say that it was ongoing.

“Under the rules of ethics for prosecutors, I can’t elaboratethe facts of the case until the trial is over,” he said.

Brookhaven Police Chief Pap Henderson said at the time of theincident that the dispute appeared to be a domestic one, as Dillonand Jackson were romantically involved.
