Co-Lin sweeps Jones County

WESSON — Co-Lin rallied for two runs in the bottom of theseventh inning and beat the Jones County Junior College Bobcats 5-4Saturday in MACJC South Division baseball action in SullivanStadium. In the opener, Co-Lin’s Wolfpack shut out the Bobcats9-0.
Co-Lin, coached by Keith Case, climbed to 7-5 in the South and21-19 overall. Jones fell to 2-10 in the South Division.
In another South twinbill Saturday, Southwest’s Bears split withPearl River, losing the opener 6-3 but taking the finale 5-3.Southwest (20-20, 6-8) and Pearl River (20-22, 5-7) are in a battlewith Co-Lin for the runner-up spot in the South Division.
Co-Lin travels to New Orleans today to play Delgado CommunityCollege in a 1 p.m. doubleheader. The Wolves conclude regularseason play with 2 South Division road tests, visiting East CentralTuesday and Pearl River Saturday.

Sophomore right-hander Joseph Langham (5-3) went the distance,throwing a 5-hitter. He struck out 6 batters and walked 1, notchinghis 5th win of the season.
Kyle Boswell took the loss and was lifted in the secondinning.
Co-Lin left-fielder Paul Davis had 3 hits in 4 turns at bat.Catcher Ryan Hoben and third baseman Timmy Foster each had 2 RBIsin the win.
Catcher Quinn Axton doubled and singled for Jones.

Ryan Hoben got the win in relief of Brett Hartfield who went 5innings. Hartfield fanned 1 batter, walked none and allowed 8hits.
Hoben gave up 1 hit. He walked 2 and fanned 0.
At the plate, JCJC was led by second baseman Mason Grissom went3-for-4, including a double. Catcher Benton Holder went 2-for-2.First baseman Adam Evans hit a 2-run homer.
Co-Lin scored twice in the bottom of the seventh. Dane Ordersand Taebyus drew walks.
