Joe W. Albritton

Services for Joe W. Albritton, of Bogue Chitto, are 11 a.m.Monday, April 23, at Arlington Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. The Revs. Bob Lynch, Keith Smith, and Dr. ClarenceYoung will officiate. Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 4 until 8 p.m., and Monday from 10a.m. until the time of the service, both at the church.

Mr. Albritton, 89, died April 21, 2007, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center. He was born in Bogue Chitto on Oct. 9,1917, to Henry H. Albritton and Laura Bell Brown Albritton.

He was a retired dairy farmer. He was a member of ArlingtonBaptist Church, where he served for nearly 51 years as a deaconafter being ordained in 1956 and was a church trustee. He was alsoa former member of the Bogue Chitto School Board and a member ofthe FSA Board. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World WarII.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Harold,Barney, and Robert C. Albritton; and his sister, Pauline Moak.

Survivors are his wife, Georgie Lynn Burris Albritton, of BogueChitto; his sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Debra Albritton, ofMadison, and Barney and Paula Albritton, of Bogue Chitto; hisbrothers and sisters-in-law, John D. and Frankine Albritton, ofStarkville, and Paul and Linda Albritton, of Liberty; his sisterand brother-in-law, Betty Jean and E.O. Templeton, of Starkville;his sister-in-law, Edwinta Albritton, of Tupelo; his grandchildren,Alan Albritton, of Madison, Jason Albritton and wife Jonna, ofBogue Chitto, Jeremy Albritton, of Brandon, and Jill Albritton, ofNew Orleans; three great-grandchildren, Dawson Albritton, ofBrandon, and Alli Grace and Jax Albritton, of Bogue Chitto; andnumerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Danny Hildago, Roger Lofton, Larry Sasser,Jimmy Brumfield, Holton Lofton and Chris Ledet.

Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Arlington BaptistChurch.

Lola Mae Hudson Bessonette

Graveside services for Lola Mae Hudson Bessonette, ofBrookhaven, are 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at Beauregard Cemetery inWesson. Brookhaven Funeral Home, Natchez Drive location, is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Bessonette, 68, died April 21, 2007, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was born in Copiah County on Nov. 12, 1938, toTom Hudson and Lottie McClendon Hudson.

She attended Copiah-Lincoln Agricultural High School. She was ahomemaker. She was a member of Central Baptist Church inBrookhaven.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her brothers, Glen,Robert, and Lee Hudson.

Survivors are her sons, Michael R. Bessonette and Frank MitchellBessonette, both of Brookhaven; her daughter, Melissa BessonetteJordan, of Brookhaven; her grandchildren, Cody and Maranda Jordan,Justin Bessonette, and Kelly and Kayla Bessonette; her brothers,Howard Hudson, of Vicksburg, and Charlie Hudson; her sisters,Sallie Sanders, Susia Prine, Mary McKee, Myrtle Lambert, and LuraArmstrong, all of Wesson, and Sadie Carlisle, of Vicksburg.

Mrs. Burris, 93, died April 20, 2007, at St. Clare Manor NursingHome in Baton Rouge. She was born in Franklin County on Jan. 9,1914, to Sam Smith and Joanna Jenkins Smith.

She was a homemaker. She was a faithful and active member ofMcCall Creek Baptist Church until her move to Baton Rouge in2001.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, HardyH. Burris.

Survivors are her daughters, Nelda Beam and husband Carey, ofBaton Rouge, Toba D’Amico and husband Michael, of West Paterson,N.J., and Robin Thomas, of Madison; her grandchildren, Michael J.D’Amico, Cyrus “Cy” C. Beam Jr., Rebecca Beam Bailey, and VictoriaAnne Thomas; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Cy Beam, Barrett Beam, Jimmy Burris, DannySmith, Mike Porter and Elzie Chance.

God did place an angel here on earth, and He did so in the formof Nova Burris. She loved, cared, smiled, trusted, and always saidthank you to everyone. We will miss her but we will rejoice knowingshe is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Ms. Smith, 77, died April 18, 2007, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born on Sept. 4, 1929, to Abney Mathes Carney andJerusha Townsend.

She was disabled.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her sons, Mike andRicky Nordan.

Survivors are her daughter, Margie Williams, of Bogue Chitto;her brothers, Kenneth Carney, of Memphis, Tenn., and Luther Carney,of Madison; her grandchildren, Angie and Charla Williams; hergreat-grandchildren, Kristian Burton, Kourtney Jones, and Tiara andMonique Williams.

John Fredrick Smith Jr.

Services for John Fredrick Smith Jr., of Hurt, Va., were 2 p.m.Friday, April 20, at New Bethel United Methodist Church with burialin the Bruce Family Cemetery. Finch and Finch Funeral and CremationService in Altavista, Va. were in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Smith, 66, died April 16, 2007, at Virginia BaptistHospital. He was born in Wesson on March 17, 1941, to John FredrickSmith and Mary Alice Hennington Smith.

He was a retired quality engineer with Ross Laboratories. He wasa member of New Bethel United Methodist Church. He was a U.S.Marine Corps veteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother, BobbySmith.

Survivors are his wife, Janice Dalton Smith; his son, JamesSmith and wife Sara, of Apalachicola, Fla.; his daughter, TanyaDeGruccio and husband Greg, of Key West, Fla.; his sister, Mary AnnJasper, of Wesson; and four grandchildren.
