Services for Troy Washington Sr., of Bogue Chitto, are 11 a.m.Saturday, May 5, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto, withburial in the church cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Washington, 88, died April 30, 2007, at his residence. Hewas born in Meadville on Jan. 8, 1919, to Rufus Washington and LulaWashington.

He was retired. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Hewas a veteran of the United States Army.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, LittleRobert Smith; and his sisters, Carrie Mae Johnson and InezClark.

Survivors are his wife, Charlieteen Washington, of Bogue Chitto;his sons, Troy Washington Jr., of Northridge, Calif., JerryWashington, of McComb, Teddy Washington, of Brookhaven, RufusWashington and Gregory Washington, both of Bogue Chitto, andSurvervo Washington, of Brookhaven; his daughters, Alice Sterling,of New Orleans, La., Mattie Jean Tobias, of McComb, and TonyaJackson, of Byram; his 23 grandchildren and 17great-grandchildren.
