Services for Mavis O. Fuller, of Brookhaven, are 10 a.m. Monday,May 7, at the Red Star Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints in Brookhaven with burial in the church cemetery.Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the church, and onMonday from 9 until 10 a.m.

Mrs. Fuller, 80, died May 4, 2007, at Brook Manor NursingCenter. She was born on Oct. 22, 1926, to Horace Britt and RachelFalvey Britt.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Red Star Ward ofthe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her husband, Geneal Fuller, of Brookhaven; herson, Rodney Fuller, of Brookhaven; her daughters, Rhonda Eckman andLydia Davis, both of Brookhaven; her brother, Clyde Britt, ofBrookhaven; her sisters, Gladys Bills and Mary Nell Brewer, both ofBrookhaven; and her eight grandchildren and sixgreat-grandchildren.

Felicia Antionette Gipson

Services for Felicia Antionette Gipson are Tuesday, May 8, atMt. Wade M.B. Church with burial in Carver Heights Cemetery.Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Monday from 1 until 5 p.m. at Williams Mortuary,with the family hours from 6 to 8 p.m.

Ms. Gipson, 34, died May 1, 2007, at her residence. She was bornAug. 26, 1972, in Jackson to Mack Gipson and Glenda GipsonWalker.

Ms. Gipson, a 1990 graduate of Brookhaven High School, was acook at Haven Hall. She as a member of Mt. Wade M.B. Church.

Preceding her in death were her stepfather, Lavernon Walker, andgrandparents E.G. and Connie Gipson and James and Marie Wilson.

Survivors are her parents; sons Darrius and Fabian Gipson, ofBrookhaven; sisters Jackie Gipson Lloyd, of Stone Mountain, Ga.,Stephanie Catchings and her husband Derrick, of Marrero, La.,Charda Crosby and her husband Gregg, of Champaign, Ill., TabithaGipson and Latoya Gipson, both of Brookhaven; brothers David R.Gipson and his wife Katina, of Houston, Texas; Robert Paul Butlerand Cherniko Smith, both of Brookhaven; and many aunts, uncles,nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Paul Wayne Hill

Services for Paul Wayne Hill, of Bruce, were Friday, May 4, atParker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce with burial in MemoryMemorial Gardens in Bruce. Dr. Buford Ussery officiated theservices.

Mr. Hill, 54, died May 2, 2007, at the MED in Memphis, Tenn. Hewas born in Bruce on June 25, 1952, to Honer Marshall and LillieBlanche James Hill.

He was the owner of Hill’s Handy Mart. He was a Mason. He was aUnited States Army veteran of the Vietnam War, E-5. He served aspastor of Southway Baptist Church in Brookhaven for 15 years. Heworked with Fox Construction Co., in Memphis. He was a graduate ofBlue Mountain College.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Dian Worden Hill, of Bruce; hisdaughter, Amy Sesser and husband Brandon, of Starkville; his formerwife, Norma Potts; his stepdaughters, Darlene Jordan, of OliveBranch, and Michelle Tipton and husband Jim, of Germantown, Tenn.;his brothers, James Hill, of Pittsboro, Jerry Hill, of Coffeeville,Bob Hill, of Marigold, and Benny Hill, of Pittsboro.

Pallbearers are Michael Hill, Glenn Hill, Ben Hill, MarshallHill, Donald Hill and Honer Hill.

James L. Shirley

Services for James L. Shirley, of Denham Springs, La., were heldWednesday, May 2, at Seale Funeral Home Chapel in Denham Springs,with burial in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery. The services wereperformed by the Rev. Bubba Courtney, pastor of New BethlehemBaptist Church, where Mr. Shirley was a member.

Mr. Shirley, 70, died April 29, 2007, at his home.

He served and defended his country while in the United StatesNavy. He was also a member of the Pipefitters Local No. 198. He wasknown throughout the Denham Springs area for his work and effortswith the Denham Springs Parks and Recreation.

Preceding him in death were his son, Mike Friedman; and hisparents, James Roy and Dixie Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Kay Mason Shirley; his daughters andsons-in-law, Sandy and Damon Pendarvis, Pat and Don Verdicanno, andGinger Shirley; his sons and daughters-in-law, Owen and LoriShirley, Ken and Monica Friedman, and Tracy and Jeanne Shirley; hisgrandchildren, Kaylea and Mason Pendarivs, Tori and MichaelFriedman, Nicki, Tony and Kris Shirley, and Cameron Mitchell; hissister and brother-in-law, Mary Martha and Bobby Hudson; and hisbrothers and sister-in-law, Wayne and Beverly Smith, and RobertEarl Smith.
