Mary Elizabeth Crowson, 89, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., formerly ofMemphis, Tenn., passed away May 7, 2007, at Hospice of WestAlabama. Visitation will be held from 1 until 2:30 p.m. onWednesday, May 9, 2007, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Tuscaloosa MemorialPark with the Revs. Jim Roberts and Alan Foster officiating.

Mrs. Crowson is preceded in death by her husband, Howard E.Crowson; and parents, Wayne Winton and Ruby Annie Collier.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Brumfield and husbandGeorge, of Brookhaven; her son, Howard W. Crowson and wife Linda,of Tuscaloosa; her grandchildren, Dana Perry and husband Charles,of Monteagle, Tenn., Erin Liken and husband Art, of Brookhaven,Michael Crowson and wife Stacey, of Norman, Okla., Amy Crowson andJohn Beeler, of Tuscaloosa; her great-grandchildren, Haley Hall andColin Hall, both of Brookhaven, Leah Crowson, Julia Crowson, SarahCrowson, Emma Crowson, of Norman, Okla.; great-stepgrandchildren,Sam Perry and wife Ginny, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Melissa Perry, ofCharlotte, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

A native of rural Benton County, Mississippi, Mary was alongtime resident of Memphis. In 1988, after the death of herhusband, she, along with her mother, moved to Tuscaloosa to be nearrelatives.

She was a devout Christian and a member of South HighlandsBaptist Church. She loved her Sunday School Class at SouthHighlands and attended faithfully until prevented by illness. Marywas a good friend to all who knew her and her loving attitude,quick wit and genuine concern for others will be missed by all.

The family expresses its appreciation to Dr. Clive Kinney, hisassociates and staff at UAB Geriatric Psychiatric Unit; Dr. RossVaughan; all those at North River Village Assisted Living whohelped make her last years fun and enjoyable; and those from SouthHighlands Baptist Church who visited her faithfully.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends of thefamily.
