Ronald Lane McDaniel, of Blountsville, Ala., died May 22, 2007,at his residence. Services will be held Friday, May 25, at 11 a.m.,at the Rock Springs Methodist Church. Phillip Vaughn and Chad Paynewill be officiating. The family will receive friends before theservice on Friday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church.

He was born in Florence, Ala., on May 21, 1949. He was the sonof George Milton McDaniel and Pearl Olene Shook McDaniel.

He had worked with the Social Security Administration, where hewas a fraud investigator at the time of his retirement. He was agraduate of Waterloo High School in Waterloo, Ala.; the Universityof North Alabama in Florence; and the University of Alabama inTuscaloosa, Ala. He was a member of Waterloo Methodist Church and aWoods Walker.

He is survived by his parents, George and Olene McDaniel, ofWaterloo; his wife, Janet Walker McDaniel, of Blountsville; hisdaughters, Heather McDaniel, of Washington, D.C., and BonnieMcDaniel, of Carrollton, Ga.; his brother,Robert McDaniel, ofWaterloo, and his twin brother, Donald McDaniel and wife,Charlotte, of Florence; his sisters, Martha Sharp and husband,Kenneth, of Waterloo, and Sarah Holcombe and husband, Terry, ofWesson; sister-in-law Nancy Walker Locke, of Belton, S.C.; hisnephews, Kyle Holcombe, of Starkville, and Daniel Holcombe, ofWesson; his niece, Kimberly Payne and husband, the Rev. Chad Payne,of Cottondale, Ala.; and his great-nieces, Elizabeth Rose Payne andLydia Payne, of Cottondale.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations bemade to the National Association on Mental Illness.
