Two men have been charged with aggravated assault following aFriday shooting incident in Silver Creek, officials said today.

Kevin Green, 21, of 44 Garner Lane, Silver Creek, and EricHathorn, 21, of 4071 Highway 84 East, Prentiss, were charged withaggravated assault Friday, said Lawrence County Sheriff’sDepartment investigator Ray Smith.

The incident was an escalation of a previous disagreement, Smithsaid.

“It was something from a couple weeks prior that started anargument Friday,” he said.

Smith said the investigation indicates that Eric Smith, 45, of41 Old Highway 84 East, Silver Creek, and Milton Dennis, 19, of 87Bud Trail, Prentiss, argued and began fighting.

During the fight, Green and Hathorn, friends of Dennis, eachpulled a gun and fired at Smith, Ray Smith said.

“One grazed him,” he said. “According to the victim, Kevin Greenis the one who actually shot him.”

Green is being held at the Lawrence County Jail, Ray Smith said.Hathorn was released Wednesday on a $10,000 bond.
