Services for James A. Garno, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Tuesday,June 19, at Fair River Baptist Church in Brookhaven with burial inFair River Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in chargeof arrangements.

Visitation is Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home,and on Tuesday at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of theservice.

Mr. Garno, 78, died June 17, 2007, at his residence. He was bornon Aug. 24, 1928, to Albert James Garno and Mabel Merkley.

He was retired from his job as a heavy equipment operator withLincoln County. He was an Army Air Force Veteran of World War II.He was a member of Fair River Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, threesisters; and one stepdaughter.

Survivors are his wife, Bessie Mae Lofton Garno; his sons,Albert Garno and wife, Jackie, Gary Garno, and John Garno and wifeJoyce, of Amarillo, Texas; his stepsons, Wesley Bearden, ofFlorence, and Kevin Rhoads and wife Amy, of Brookhaven; hisdaughter, Phyllis Rockhold and husband Billie, of Amarillo; hisstepdaughter, Dr. Barbara Bradshaw, of Burleson, Texas; his sevengrandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and his sevenstepgrandchildren and four great-stepgrandchildren.
