Services for Johnnie “JoMax” McCullough, of Ruth, are noon onSaturday, June 16, at Hartman Funeral Home in McComb with burial inShady Grove Baptist Cemetery in Lincoln County. The Rev. BurnettCarraway will officiate.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home,and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mr. McCullough, 68, died June 13, 2007, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. He was born in Ruth on Aug. 17, 1938, toFrank McCullough and Pearl Searcy McCullough.

Before his retirement, he was a machinist millwright withGeorgia Pacific. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church,served in the United States Navy and was member of the TopisawMasonic Lodge No. 413. He was an avid gardener, loved fishing andplaying with his grandchildren. He was well loved by his family andcommunity. He had a big heart and loved helping others withoutbringing attention to himself. Johnnie could start out with nothingand end up with something great.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his stepfather,Ralph McCullough.

Survivors are his wife, Nona D. McCullough, of Ruth; hisdaughters, Rhonda Luckett and husband David, Cindy Ware and MyrnaJordan, all of Pearl, and Shelley McCullough Bradford and husbandRyan, of Jacksonville, Fla.; his brothers, Pat McCullough and wifePeggy, of Ruth, and Nick McCullough and wife Crystall, of Marrero,La.; his grandchildren, Amanda Luckett, Joshua Jordan, Kristen Wareand LeAnne Marie Bradford; his great-granddaughter Tara Jordan; andnumerous nieces, nephews and friends.
