Stan King wins Dixie Boys City title

Marquis Hayes smashed a home run, a triple and a single to leadStan King to a 15-9 win over State Bank and capture the LincolnCounty Youth Sports Dixie Boys Baseball League City ChampionshipWednesday night.

State Bank led Stan King 7-2 for 3 1/2 innings. Stan King cameback with 5 runs to tie the game at 7-all. In the final 3 innings,Stan King outscored State Bank 8-2 for the comeback win.

Matthew Young was the winning pitcher, fanning 5 batters andwalking 10. Travis Sorrels took the loss with 5 strikeouts and 3walks.

Contributing to the Stan King win with 2 doubles and a singlewas Luke Henderson. Young doubled and singled. Also doubling wasCameron Berry. Gabe Wilson and Coner Bell singled.

State Bank got 3 singles from Jarrett Todd. Sorrels doubled.Singling were Blake Fugler, E.J. Henderson, Joel Alexander, C.J.Duckworth, Danny Ford and Robert Neih.
