Services for Fred L. Smith Jr., of Brookhaven, are 10 a.m.Friday, July 13, at Community Funeral Services Chapel.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Smith, 81, died July 11, 2007, at his residence. He was bornon Jan. 14, 1926, to Fred L. Smith Sr. and Lena Boutwell Smith.

He was a retired from Columbus Lumber after 52 years of service.He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Helen Smith;a brother and a sister.

Survivors are his son, Nolon Bowman, of Brookhaven; hisdaughter, Dianne Allen, of Brookhaven; his brother, Frank Smith, ofBrookhaven; his sister, Eula C. Reeves, of Bogue Chitto; hiscaregivers, Teresa Dyess, Misty Beasley and Sandra Patrick; hisfive grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
