A celebration of life was held for Eddie Carrol Beasley Sr. ofGulfport, formerly of Brookhaven, on Monday, July 30 at Shepherd’sWay Church in Long Beach.

Mr. Beasley, 66, died on July 26, 2007, at his residence after abrief illness. He was born in Georgetown on Feb. 3, 1941, to JohnR. Beasley and Bobbie Lupo Beasley.

He was a truck driver and a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was anaccomplished martial artist and held many degrees of black belt. Hespoke as many as eight different languages and was a faithfulmember of Shepherd’s Way Church.

Proceeding him in death were his parents; his brother-in-law,Clyde Irwin Jr; and his best friend, Troy L. Wooley.

Survivors include his wife, Faydra Smith Beasley; his sons,Eddie C. Beasley Jr, of Navarre, Fla., John Beasley, of Petal, SeanBeasley and wife Amy, of Long Beach, Scott Webster, of Texas; hisdaughter, Renee Bush and husband Mark, of Gulfport; his sister,Johnnie Faye Irwin Landrum, of Petal; his grandchildren, Adria andJessica Beasley, of Navarre, Fla., Courtney and Shane Beasley, ofLong Beach; his niece, Pam Irwin-Malone, of Richton; his nephew,Tim Irwin, of Oakvale; and a host of great nieces and nephews,cousins and friends.

Memorials may be made in his honor to Shepherd’s Way Church.
