Services for Fred Douglas “Hop” Kelly, of Bogue Chitto, are 11a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at New Zion Union Missionary Baptist Churchin Bogue Chitto with burial in Bogue Chitto-Norfield Cemetery.Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Tuesday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home,with family hour from 6 until 7 p.m.
Mr. Kelly, 65, died Aug. 2, 2007, at Mississippi Baptist MedicalCenter in Jackson. He was born in Brookhaven on May 30, 1942, toVersie Kelly and Cleo Paxton Kelly.
He was retired after 23 years with the Homelite ManufacturingCo., and 13 years with Sanderson Farms. He retired in 2006. He wasa member of New Zion Union M.B. Church, where he served as Sundayschool superintendent and custodian until his health declined.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, RalphKelly.
Survivors are his wife, Linda Edwards Kelly, of Bogue Chitto;his son, Wayne Kelly, of Milwaukee, Wis.; his daughters, TeresaKelly, Angela Mitchell and husband Jermaine, Phillis Patton, andBarbara Ward and husband Vander, all of Milwaukee; Kim Addison,Crystal Washington and Kayla Hubbard, all of Bogue Chitto; hisbrothers, Virgil Kelly and wife Sylvia, of St. Louis, Mo., PhillipKelly and wife Flora, of Brookhaven, Willie Lee Kelly, of Naples,Fla., Jerry Kelly, of Radcliff, Ky., and Eric Kelly and wifeSuzanna, of Pittsburg, Calif.; his sister, Dorothy Harrison, ofChicago, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; threeaunts; two uncles; and many nieces, nephews and otherrelatives.
