Howard W. ‘Hap’ Jones

Services for Howard W. “Hap” Jones, of Summit, are 2 p.m.Sunday, Aug. 19, at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb withburial in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home,and on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.

Mr. Jones, 79, died Aug. 16, 2007, at his residence. He was bornon April 18, 1928, in Pike County to W.M. “Bill” Jones and MadaJackson Jones.

He was a retired truck driver with Crescent Materials of Kenner,La., with over 20 years of service. He was a member of Moak’s CreekBaptist Church and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He wasan avid pool player.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Jessie ErwinJones; his brother, William H. Jones and his brother-in-law, CarlAnthony.

Survivors are his daughter, Pat Whittington, of Summit; hisbrother, Harold B. Jones, of Summit; his sister, Vivian NaomiAnthony, of Amite, La.; his two grandchildren; his threegreat-stepgrandchildren; three great-great-stepgrandchildren; andnumerous nieces and nephews.
