Services for J.W. “Jake” Washington, of Jackson, are 11 a.m.Saturday, Sept. 1, at Willie Mae Tyler Memorial Chapel inBrookhaven with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 5 p.m. at Tyler FuneralHome.

Mr. Washington, 62, died Aug. 24, 2007, at his residence. He wasborn on Feb. 26, 1945, to Elius Amos and Josephine Tucker.

He was a retired construction worker.

Preceding him in death were his father; his brothers, ArlesterBlue and J.D. Blue; his sister, Bernie Lee Buckley; and threeinfant brothers.

Survivors are his mother, Josephine Tucker, of Brookhaven; hisbrothers, M.L. Blue, of Oakland, Calif., O.C. Tucker and UliceAmos, both of Brookhaven, Eddie Amos, of Bude, Bobby Amos and J.L.”Jerry” Amos, both of McCall Creek; his sisters, Eula AmosSaulsberry, of McCall Creek, Bernie Amos Collins, of Konesha, Wis.,Ida Richardson and Betty Amos, both of McComb, Nancy Jackson, ofWesson, Helen Griffin, Annie Bell Brooks, Queen Esther Hawkins andMary Nell Dixon, all of Brookhaven, Della Mae Roberson, of Jackson,and Mayflower, of St. Paul, Minn.
