Brookhaven girls maul McComb

It took only three innings for the Brookhaven Lady Panthers topin a 16-0 Division 6-4A slowpitch softball loss on the McComb LadyTigers Tuesday night at the Lady Panther Softball Complex.

Ole Brook limited the green-clad Tigers to 3 hits from DesireeMallery (2) and Delcresha Wells. Casey Risher authored the win witha no walks and 1 strikeout. Desiree Mallery took the loss.

Brookhaven realized a 7-6 win over McComb in the JV game.

Both teams continue in 6-4A play Thursday. Brookhaven travels toPort Gibson for a single varsity game. McComb hosts LawrenceCounty.

Brookhaven 16, McComb 0

The Lady Panthers (11-5, 4-1) sent 16 batters to the plate,scoring 12 runs. Ole Brook Head Coach Lisa Covington realized theshutout win in the top of the third, when her ballclub kept McCombfrom getting in scoring position.

“It is always good to get a win,” said Coach Covington followingthe game.

Scoring runs for Brookhaven were Risher (2), Sabrina Delaughter(2), Georgia Rae Rainer (2), Karlee Martin (2), Sarah Ayers (2),Hannah Lowman, Terri Hodges, Stevie Wright, Katie Stewart, KelseyFreeman and Brittany Bateman.

Collecting base hits were Lowman, Risher, Delaughter (2),Rainer, Martin, Bateman and Ayers. Hodges, Wright and Martin eachhad a double. Risher tripled.

In the JV game, collecting base hits for theLady Panthers were Brianna Ashmore (2), Karlee Martin, BrittanyBateman, Shelby Case and Rashana Stewart.
