Services for Calvin D. West Jr., of Vidalia, La., will be heldat 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16, at Laird Funeral Home Chapel onUnion Street in Natchez, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park inNatchez.

Visitation is Saturday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. West, 75, died Sept. 13, 2007, at his residence. He was bornin Greenville, Ala., on March 28, 1932, to Calvin D. West Sr. andEstelle Boyd West.

He was retired from International Paper Co., after 39 years ofservice. He was a Korean War veteran of the United States Navy, andserved aboard the USS Cowell. He was presented the Good ConductMedal for Service Ending. He was a charter member of M and DHunting Club. He was a member of the International WildlifeFederation and the American Cancer Association. He was a member ofHighland Baptist Church in Natchez.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Glenda HooverWest; his brother-in-law, J.D. Thames; and his niece, KathyThames.

Survivors are his sister, Sue West Thames, of Brookhaven; hisnephew, John Thames, of Brookhaven; his nieces and their spouses,Cindy and David Kennedy, and Joni and David Culpepper, all ofBrookhaven; Becky and David Bush, of Jackson, Kathy and FreddieTyson, and Nell and Ricky Byrd, all of Vidalia, and Mitzi and WayneBolyer, of Ferriday, La.
