Eddie and Elaine Dunnigan tried to make their house a home inmore ways than one by opening it up to as many house members asthey could.

At the time their home on Old St. John’s Road burned Thursday,they had seven children living with them. The family consists oftwo foster children, two adopted children, two grandchildren andone child who is the Dunnigans’ natural child.

Now they are living out of the Hampton Inn while they await newsfrom the powers that be.

“They’ve got a crew up there this morning to try to get thewater and the smoke stuff out of there,” said Elaine Dunnigan onSaturday. “He said he’s looking at about $60,000 to $70,000 worthof damage.”

Dunnigan said at this point it looks like the insurance will payfor repairs to the home. But until then, she and her family of nineare coping the best way they know how.
