Franklin Co. smashes Natchez

MEADVILLE — A full dose of smash-mouth football and some steadydefensive pressure gave the Franklin County Bulldogs a decisive42-6 victory Friday night over the Natchez Bulldogs at LouieMullins Memorial Stadium.

The FCHS Bulldogs (4-0), winners of their last 11 home games,started back-up quarterback Ryne Tutor in place of junior standoutJamie Collins (injury) and still FC rolled up 420 yards of totaloffense.

“We played smash-mouth football tonight,” said Bulldogs headcoach Grady McCluskey. “Our defense played another lights-outgame.”

FC’s defense limited Natchez to a mere 174 yards of offense andforced the River City Bulldogs into three turnovers.

“Our defense played hard, and we’re stepping up each game,” saida sweat soaked FC senior defensive end Josh Tillman who accountedfor 8 tackles and three sacks.
