Bertha L. Turner

Services for Bertha L. Turner, of Monticello are 10 a.m.Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticellowith burial in Arm Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 5 until 9 p.m. at thefuneral home.

Mrs. Turner, 79, died Sept. 23, 2007, at River Region MedicalCenter in Vicksburg. She was born on Dec. 7, 1928, to Jack Lord andLetha Walker Lord.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Old Silver CreekBaptist Church. She was an active member with the VFW Women’sAuxiliary.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, James E.Turner; a daughter, Collene Turner; and two brothers, Zious Lordand Matt Lord.

Survivors are her son James Turner Jr. and his wife, Linda, ofVicksburg; her brothers, Archie Lord, of Monticello, Jack Lord Jr.,of Carriere, and Daniel Lord, of Monticello; her sisters, SylviaMorrison, of Shreveport, La., Sarah McDaniel, of Gulfport, andRachel Lowe, of Hattiesburg; three grandchildren, KristenBillingsley, of Columbus, Ga., Suzanna Flotta, of Kennesaw, Ga.,and Josh Turner, of Vicksburg; three great-grandchildren, KatelynClouser, Madison Clouser and Bryce Billingsley; and several niecesand nephews.
