Powerhouse Gulf Coast rips Co-Lin

WESSON — For the first quarter, it was even. The Co-Lin Wolvesand the Gulf Coast Bulldogs were deadlocked at 0-all. Then GulfCoast showed why they are ranked No. 3 in the nation as theunbeaten Bulldogs put together a huge 37-3 South Division victoryover the Wolves Thursday night in Stone Stadium.

With the win, Gulf Coast improved to 3-0 in the south and 5-0 onthe season. Co-Lin fell to 1-2 in the south and 1-4 overall.

“It was a big win,” said Gulf Coast head football coach SteveCampbell following the game. “Our receivers stepped it up tonight.The defense did a great job. Our offensive line did a goodjob.”

The Bulldogs took a 17-3 lead at halftime then pushed it to 24-3in the third quarter and 37-3 in the final frame.

“Gulf Coast has a great football team,” said Co-Lin head coachGlenn Davis. “Steve does a great job with them. They are solid onboth ends of the football.”
