Bobcats blast Cathedral

BOGUE CHITTO — The undefeated Bogue Chitto Bobcats continue todominate in Region 4-1A football action. Friday night, Bogue Chittosmashed the Natchez Cathedral Green Wave 55-34 at Troy SmithField.
Bogue Chitto improved to 5-0 on the season and 5-0 in theregion. Cathedral fell to 1-4 in division play and on theseason.
The Bobcats trailed the Green Wave 14-8 in the first quarter butwent on to score 12 points in the second quarter 30 in the thirdand 13 in the final frame. Cathedral added 20 points in the fourthquarter.
“It was a tough ball game in the first half,” said Bogue Chittohead football coach Gareth Sartin. “Cathedral took it to us in thefirst half. It took us a while to get going.”
Bogue Chitto junior quarterback Seth Avants rushed the football16 times for 171 yards and scored 4 touchdowns. Avants completed 5of 11 passes for 57 yards. Catching 4 passes for 52 yards was BrianRobinson.
