Republican candidates will descend on Brookhaven for a politicalparty rally and free fish fry Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the LincolnCounty Multi-Purpose Building.
Chuck Nelms, Lincoln County Republican executive committeechairman, said he had received commitments from all Republicansseeking statewide offices and several pursuing regional Senate orHouse seats. State Republican Party Chairman Jim Herring has alsocommitted to attend the event.
Candidates have no time limit on their speeches, Nelms said, butthey have been asked to be brief because of the sheer number ofoffice-seekers attending the event.
“It will last until the last person has spoken,” he said.
The highlight of the event, however, is that SouthwestMississippi residents will be able to meet with the candidatesone-on-one to ask about them about their views on issues ofimportance to them, Nelms said.
