Twelve Brookhaven teams are putting their best foot forwardSaturday to raise $25,000 for children during the fourth annualWalk for Wishes.

The walk is a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation ofMississippi, which provides coverage in 62 central and southMississippi counties. Check-in is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 8:45a.m. with the 5K walk beginning at 9 a.m. at Exchange ClubPark.

“The money is used to pay for the wishes of children withlife-threatening medical conditions,” said Jane Walsh, an eventorganizer. “We’re currently working on 94 wishes from those whohave qualified.”

One of Saturday’s teams will be led by Brianna Givens, 7, ofMonticello, Walsh said. Givens is a previous wish recipient whogives much of her free time supporting the organization.

“Her mother helps her a lot, but she really hustles and raises alot of money,” Walsh said.
