Man injured in morning shooting

A Brookhaven man who was shot in the early hours of Tuesdaymorning has been flown to University Medical Center, policeofficials said.

Brookhaven Police Capt. Roger Wilson said 23-year-old TerranceDixon, of 506 Vanzie St., was taken to King’s Daughters MedicalCenter after he was shot in the leg between 4 and 4:30 a.m. Tuesdayat his home. Wilson said at this point authorities do not know theidentity of the shooter.

“We know he was shot, but we don’t know who did it at thispoint,” Wilson said. “I was able to speak with him briefly at thehospital, and he said he doesn’t know who did it either.”

The caliber of the gun with which Dixon was shot is unknown asthe bullet went through his lower leg and the projectile has notbeen found.

Wilson said Dixon was standing in the driveway when the shootingoccurred.
