Services for Inez Washington Quarles, of Brookhaven, will beheld at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at St. James MissionaryBaptist Church in Brookhaven with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery inBrookhaven. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Tuesday from 1 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home,with family hour from 7 until 8 p.m.
Mrs. Quarles, 75, died Oct. 11, 2007, at her residence. She wasborn on March 31, 1932, to Percy Washington Sr. and MaryWashington.
She was retired from her job in the food service department atAlexander High School. She was a member of St. James M.B.Church.
Preceding her in death were her father; her husband, Robert LeeQuarles; her son, Johnny Quarles; her infant daughter; her sisters,Edith Redd and Monell Brown; and her daughter-in-law, BelindaQuarles.
Survivors are her mother, Mary Coleman Washington, ofBrookhaven; her sons, Richard Lee Quarles and wife Debra, JamesEarl Quarles, Jerry Quarles, Jeffery Quarles and wife Catherine,and Billy Quarles, all of Brookhaven; her brother, Percy B.Washington, of Muskegon, Mich.; her sisters, Ella V. Sanders andhusband Bennie, of Muskegon, Nita Knight, Alice Love, GenevaMcGregory and husband King, and Vera Fields and husband Levi, allof Brookhaven, Juanita McGrew and husband Warren, of Chicago, Ill.,Irma Dorsey and husband Walter, of Crystal Springs, and MaxineBrown, of Hattiesburg; her eight grandchildren and 17great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives andfriends; and a special friend, Evelyn Hill, of Brookhaven.
