Julia George Ilsley
Services for Julia George Ilsley, of Brookhaven, will be held at11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, at St. Francis of Assisi CatholicChurch in Brookhaven with burial in St. Francis Catholic Cemeteryin Brookhaven. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.
Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral homeon Jackson Street, with a Rosary service at 7 p.m..
Mrs. Ilsley, 83, died Oct. 15, 2007, at her residence. She wasborn in Brookhaven on March 13, 1914, to Amien George and LatifieGeorge.
She was retired and had worked as a secretary with the Farmer’sHome Administration in Columbia. She was a member of St. Francis ofAssisi Catholic Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, WilmerJoseph Ilsley; her sisters, Mary Adeline Attaya and LillyMartinson; and her brother, Amien Thomas George.
Survivors are her daughter, Patricia Anne Colvin and husbandAlan, of Jacksonville, N.C.; her sisters, Frieda Hutson andCatherine George, both of Brookhaven; her brother, William George,of Brookhaven; her grandchildren, Stephen Brent Snowden, ofRaleigh, N.C., Julia Marie Snowden Vesilind, of Cary, N.C., andAlan Colvin Jr., of Jacksonville; and her great-grandchildren,Brittany, William, Jake, Lela and Gavin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis ofAssisi Catholic Church of Brookhaven.
Betty A. Quin
Services for Betty A. Quin, of Ruth, will be held at 11 a.m. onThursday, Oct. 18, at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb withburial in Shady Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Billy Joe Deer and theRev. Tom Burris will officiate.
Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home,and on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Mrs. Quin, 90, died Oct. 16, 2007, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Lincoln County on Oct. 14, 1917, to J.B.Adams and Mary Richardson Adams.
She was a homemaker. She was an active member of FellowshipBaptist Church in Summit. She was a loving and wonderful lady wholoved to sing, and loved her family and church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, James LeeQuin, her daughter, Mary D. Cullotta; her son-in-law, the Rev.Larry T. Springfield; and her five brothers and five sisters.
Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, James A. and CarolynQuin, of Ruth; her daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth “Libby” andRichard Rogers, and Jean and Charles Furr, all of Brookhaven; herson-in-law, Vince Cullotta, of McComb; her grandchildren and theirspouses; Angie and Dwayne Boyd, of Ruth, Shelia and Ricky Brister,of Bogue Chitto, Matt and Emily Springfield, Mark Springfield,Ashley and Larry Sykes, Brian Furr and Michelle and Philip Smith,all of Brookhaven, Felicia Cullotta and Vicki Cullotta, of McComb,Hope and Luke Johnson and Cheyenne Davis, all of Brookhaven; hergreat-grandchildren, Krystyn and Kaitlyn Boyd, Destiny Brister,Brandon Thompson and wife Melissa, Heather Jordan and husband Drew,Stephen Springfield, Ben Springfield and Emma Kate Springfield; hergreat-great-grandchildren, Jacob Jordan, Abby Jordan, Emily GraceJordan and Mary Claire Johnson; and numerous nieces andnephews.
