Graveside services for Tressie Powell Smith, of Jasper, Ga.,will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, at the Paxton FamilyCemetery in Lincoln County near Loyd Star. Harrigill Funeral Homeis in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Smith, 74, died Oct. 16, 2007, at Piedmont MountainsideHospital in Jasper.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Ruzy Lester Powell andMyrtle Lee Powell; and her husband, Harold Wendell Smith Sr.

Survivors are her sons, Mike Youmans, of Texas, Sam Smith, ofArizona, Tommy Smith, of Nelson, Ga., Victor Smith, of California,Hubert Smith, of Jasper; her daughters, Dannette Pettingill, ofWoodstock, Ga., Linda Brown, of Vicksburg, and Jamie Morin, ofMinnesota; her stepsons, Wendell Smith, of Chatsworth, Ga., RaymondSmith, of Rome, Ga., and Ken Smith, of Chatsworth; herstepdaughters, Dee Allen, of Chatsworth, and Shirl Raymond, ofIllinois; her sister, Dottie Tomko, of Texas; her brothers, BuddyPowell and James Powell, both of Mississippi; her 39 grandchildrenand several great-grandchildren.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be madeto the Living Word Church or Grandview Nursing Home in Jasper.
