Black reveals plans to sign deal with LSU

Brookhaven guard/forward Swayze Black has made a verbalcommitment to sign a basketball scholarship with the LSU LadyTigers next month. Black made her decision after visiting the BatonRouge campus last weekend.

Black, a 6-foot-2, All-State selection as a junior and asophomore, was heavily recruited by Ole Miss and Southern Miss. Shevisited Southern Miss two weekends ago for homecoming.

As a junior, Black averaged 13.2 points and 10 rebounds pergame, helping lead the Lady Panthers to a runners-up finish in theClass 4A state tournament. Last summer she was selected the MostValuable Defensive Player in the Mississippi Association of CoachesAll-Star Basketball Game.
