Robert Grandberry

Services for Robert Grandberry, of Monticello, will be held at11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Oak Grove Missionary BaptistChurch in Monticello with burial in the church cemetery. WilliamsMortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 2 until 5 p.m. at the funeral home,and on Saturday from 10 until 11 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Grandberry, 94, died Oct. 18, 2007, at Lawrence CountyNursing Home in Monticello. He was born on Dec. 15, 1912, to WylieGrandberry and Lizzie Grandberry.

He was retired. He was a member of Oak Grove M.B. Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, EstellaGrandberry; his daughter, Dorothy Terry; his sisters, MaryGrandberry and Laura Tucker; his brothers, Willie Grandberry,Harvey Lee Grandberry, Charlie Grandberry and Carsie Grandberry;and his two stepchildren.

Survivors are his sons, Lloyd Grandberry, of Chicago, Ill., andRickey Grandberry, of Michigan; his daughters, Betty Anderson andMartha Philpot, both of Chicago; his sisters, Edna McCoy and LettieJohnson, both of Chicago, and Maggie Baggett, of Monticello; hisbrother, George Grandberry, of Monticello; his 24 grandchildren;and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and relatives.
