Services for J.D. “Busta” Washington, of Brookhaven, will beheld at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Center Street Church ofChrist in Brookhaven with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. MarshallFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 5 p.m. at the funeral home,with a wake service from 7 until 8 p.m. at the church. A viewingwill be held at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the timeof the service.

Mr. Washington, 85, died Oct. 23, 2007, at Silver Cross Home inBrookhaven. He was born in Lincoln County on Jan. 30, 1922, toHelen Fronnie Buie Washington and Joseph Washington.

He was a member of Center Street Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sister, Annie BellHarris; and his brothers, Fred McDaniel, R.C. Scott and T.J.Washington.

Survivors are his sisters, Josephine Tucker, Anna Marie Allenand Gazell Thomas; his brothers, Leonard Washington, EddieWashington, Otis Washington and Robert Lee Washington; and a hostof nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
