Snider sparks BA girls in stampede of WCCA

NATCHEZ — Senior forward Kelli Snider fired in 14 points,pulled down 6 rebound, made 9 steals and had 3 assists in leadingthe Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars to a 41-9 win over theWilkinson County Christian Academy Lady Rams Tuesday night in theAdams County Christian School Tipoff Tournament.
Brookhaven Academy (1-0) faces Huntington in the ACCS ClassicThursday at 8:50 p.m. The Cougars are coached by Barry Gray.
In the junior high game, the BA girls crushed WCCA 49-24.

Contributing to the BA season-opening win with 12 points wasplaymaker Nicole Smith. Betsy Lynch netted 10 points and made 5steals. Kellie Brady pulled down 4 rebounds.
The Cougars jumped on the Rams (1-1) for a 19-0 lead in thefirst quarter. At the half, BA dominated WCCA with a 32-2 lead.
Allie Fontenot scored 8 point for WCCA.
Junior high action
In the win over WCCA, BA was sparked by Laura Beth Wright with12 points and 3 rebounds. Terah Winborne and Summer Calhounfinished with 8 points apiece. Mary Lindsey Magee pulled down 4rebounds.
Bethan Fletcher scored 8 points for WCCA.
