A Bogue Chitto man is being held in the Lincoln County jail onaggravated assault charges after he allegedly stabbed anacquaintance at a party over the weekend, authorities said.

Timothy Bowman, 24, of 728 Stillwood Lane, was involved in anargument with another man when he stabbed him in the lower backSaturday morning at around 3 a.m. The two men were attending aparty being held at a residence on Stoneybrook Trail.

“There was an altercation between two gentlemen in which one ofthem got stabbed in the lower back,” said Lincoln County Sheriff’sInvestigator Bateman Stilley. “It’s still under investigation.”

Sheriff’s department officials declined to name the victim,pending further investigation into the case.

The victim was treated and released at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter’s Emergency Room following the incident.
