BA sweeps Central Private

Brookhaven Academy’s basketball teams swept four games Mondayafternoon against visiting Central Private as all the Cougar teamsremained undefeated on the season.

The Cougars cruised to a 71-38 victory and the Lady Cougarswhipped the Lady Rebels 56-29. The Cougars resume play after theThanksgiving break, hosting Oak Forest Nov. 29, with four gamesstarting at 4 p.m.

Junior forward Joshua Winborne registered a double-double,pouring in a game-high 21 points and pulling down 10 rebounds tolead Brookhaven as the Cougars improved to 2-0 on the year.

“We played pretty well defensively.” said Brookhaven boys coachDale Watts. “We struggled at times offensively but our defensiveallowed us to pull away. There are still some things we need towork on.”

Blaine Roberts followed with 14 points for the Cougars. SawyerWallace chipped in 9 points, seven rebounds and six assists. DanielLofton had 7 rebounds.

Jeff Murtrain led the Rebels with 21 points. Conley Whitefollowed with 8 points.

Betsy Lynch scored a game-high 13 points and dished out fourassists to lead the Lady Cougars as they improved to 4-0 on theyear. Kelli Snider followed with 12 points. Hannah Watts added 10points and 9 rebounds in support.

Jenny Morgan scored 9 points to lead Central Private

In junior high girls action, Mary Lindsey Mageescored 12 points in leading the Lady Cougars to a 29-14 win. LauraBeth Wright added 5 points for the Lady Cougars.

Kelsey Couvillion scored 10 points to lead the Lady Rebels.
