Services for Clara B. Davis, of Meadville, are 2:30 p.m. Sunday,Nov. 25, at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb with burial inNew Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in McCall Creek. The Rev. WileyReid and Elder Luke Addison will officiate.

Visitation is Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of the serviceat the funeral home.

Mrs. Davis, 92, died Nov. 23, 2007, at Franklin County Hospital.She was born in Franklin County on Oct. 8, 1915, to Zack and MarthaRatliff Nordan.

She was a homemaker and a loving mother of eight children. Shewas a member of Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church in FranklinCounty.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, AlvieDavis; her sons, Rudolf Davis, Billy Ray Davis, Leo Davis andWilliam Davis; and two brothers, Wince Nordan and WilliamNordan.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Buford and Pat Davis,of Meadville; her daughters and sons-in-law, Clara Jean and EmmitJohnston, of McComb, Wanda and James Newman, of Smithdale, andGeneva Harrigill, of Meadville; her daughters-in-law, Dianne Davis,of Summit, Nadene Davis, of Liberty, Katherine Davis, of Natchez,and Kathy Davis, of Smithdale; three sisters and brothers-in-law,Ammie and Prentiss Dillon, of Meadville, Barbara Jean and EdwardJones, of Brandon, and Rosie Allen, of Vicksburg; 27 grandchildren;52 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and otherfamily and friends.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Bonds, Mark Davis, Michael Davis,Jamie Newman, Ricky Johnston and Paul Malone. Honorary pallbearerswill also be grandsons.
