The host West Lincoln Bears got 17 points and 4 rebounds fromAaron Collins Tuesday night on their way to a 54-39 win over theFranklin County Bulldogs in Jack Case Gymnasium.

In girls action, Lady Bulldogs put away the host Lady Bears42-26, powered by Paige Webster’s 22 points, 8 rebounds, 4 stealsand 2 assists.

West Lincoln invades Enterprise Thursday for 4 games. The juniorvarsity girls begin at 4 p.m.

West Lincoln 54, Franklin Co. 39

The Bears (3-2) jumped on the Bulldogs (2-9) to take a 17-7 leadin the first quarter. At halftime, West Lincoln held an 8-point,30-22 lead.

“It’s the best we have played this year,” said West Lincolncoach Lane Young. “We are still missing some easy shots we mustmake. It everyone gets on the same page, we will becompetitive.”

Contributing to the West Lincoln win with 13 points apiece wereJeremy Byrd and Jamie Byrd. Jeremy Byrd also pulled down 7 reboundsfollowed by Jamie Byrd with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.

Jason Hunt led the Bulldogs with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 3steals. Michael Allen followed with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 3steals.

“West Lincoln beat us on the floor and glass,” said FranklinCounty boys coach Chris Jordan. “Their execution was better thanours. We made a run. West Lincoln outhustled us.”

Jordan is still minus several potential starters due to FranklinCounty’s involvement in the Class 3A state football playoffs. TheBulldogs host Raleigh Friday night for the South State 3Achampionship.

Franklin Co. 42, West Lincoln 26

The game was close in the first quarter with Franklin Countyleading West Lincoln 7-5. The Lady Bulldogs went on a 20-5 run inthe second quarter to push their lead to 27-10 at the half.

“We played pretty good defense,” said Franklin County girlscoach Charles Moore. “We are making a living off of our defense. Wemust strive to be better offensively and find our offensivechemistry.”

Adding support in the Bulldogs (5-3) win with 9 points and 5rebounds was Cee Cee Davis.

“Franklin County is very athletic and long,” said Young.”Anybody with that size is hard for us to match up with. Wecompeted, which was one of the things I wanted to do tonight.”

The 1-4 Bears were sparked by Talashia Fells with 9 points, 7rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Hannah Knouse followed with 6 pointsand 5 rebounds.

Junior varsity action

The Franklin County JV girls crushed West Lincoln 36-8.

Kristen Hall led the Bears with 4 points. Powering the Bulldogswith 8 points was Monique Starks.
