John L. Butler

Services for John L. Butler, of Natchez, will be held at 11 a.m.Saturday, Dec. 15, at Zion Watch Baptist Church in Natchez withburial in the church cemetery. Marshall Funeral Home is in chargeof arrangements.

Visitation is Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the serviceat the church.

Mr. Butler, 54, died Dec. 11, 2007, at Natchez RegionalHospital. He was born in Adams County on April 8, 1953, to the Rev.Andrew and Mrs. Lenora Butler.

He enjoyed riding horses and spending time with hisgrandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his sister, Gloria Page; and hisbrother, James “Tex” Butler.

Survivors are his parents; his wife of 35 years, NarvelenaButler; his daughters, Kathy L. Butler and Tiffany Wiggins; hissons, John Butler Jr. and Trey R. Butler; his sisters, LenoraThompson, Velma Allen and Lynda Yates; his brothers, Leroy Butler,Andrew Butler Sr., Joseph Butler, Jack Butler, Dale Butler, DonaldButler and Eddie Butler; his seven grandchildren; and a host ofaunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ruby Monell Smith Lofton

Services for Ruby Monell Smith Lofton, of Bogue Chitto, was heldat 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel onNorth Jackson Street with burial in Friendship Baptist ChurchCemetery. The Revs. Trent Bilbo and Wiley Reid officiated.

Visitation was Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home,and on Friday from 8 a.m. until service time.

Mrs. Lofton, 88, died Dec. 11, 2007, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 29, 1919, to PearlieSmith and Louella Smith Smith.

She was a homemaker and worked at Stahl-Urban. She was a memberof Friendship Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Robert J.Lofton; her grandson, Clifton Richard Crosby; her granddaughter,Dawn Michelle Lofton; her brothers, Hughlon Smith and Hollis Smith;and her sisters, Ruthie Dunn Smith and Ava Watts.

Survivors are her son, Jimmy Lofton and wife, Kay, of BogueChitto; her daughter, Delores Crosby and husband, Clifton, of BogueChitto; her five grandchildren; her eight great-grandchildren andseven great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces andnephews.

Pallbearers are Steve Crosby, Brad Crosby, Matthew Magee, JohnnyMagee, Vince Graves, Jamie Hart and Danny Watts.

Belinda A. ‘Linda’ McCardle

Services for Belinda A. “Linda” McCardle, 52, of Hermanville,will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Rehobeth MethodistChurch in Copiah County with burial in the church cemetery.Stringer Family Funeral Services in Hazlehurst is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Saturday from noon until the time of the serviceat the church.

She died Dec. 13, 2007, at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospitalin Jackson.

She retired from Bell South after 30 years of service.

Her sister, Jennifer McCardle Rainer, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her mother, Carol McCardle, ofHermanville.

Memorials may be made to the Animal Rescue League.

Eleanor Hancock Parker

Services for Eleanor Hancock Parker, of Liberty Community LivingCenter, were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, at Hebron BaptistChurch in Amite County with burial in Keith Cemetery. The Revs.Mike Alexander and Andy Boles officiated. Jones Family FuneralServices in McComb was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Parker, 93, died Dec. 12, 2007, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. She was born in Amite County onMay 9, 1914, to Mr. and Mrs. Ira Hancock.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Churchand a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, LeoParker; and a brother, Clyde Hancock.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Byron “Sonny” andShirley Parker, of Summit; her daughter, Anna Laura Barrier, ofPort St. Joe, Fla.; her grandchildren, Burney Scott Parker, ofSummit, and Tripp Barrier III and wife, Sharon, of Florida; and agreat-grandson, Justin Barrier, of Florida.

Pallbearers are Burney Parker, Steve Moore, Darrell Moore, MikeToler, M.L. Sharp and Dale Williams.

Honorary pallbearers are Donald Butler, Paul Albritton and CecilParker.

Tommy G. Watts

Services for Tommy G. Watts, of Brookhaven, are 10 a.m.Saturday, Dec. 15, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive.Burial will be at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Watts, 69, died Dec. 13, 2007, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born on Oct. 14, 1938, to Altemon Watts and NellieCase Watts.

He was a retired electrician and retired from Charlie Nelms Fordas a car salesman.

He was a member of Brookway Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Will RoyWatts and a sister, Mildred Acy.

Survivors are his wife Evelyn Williamson, of Brookhaven; hissons, Toby Watts, of Brookhaven, and Greg Watts, of Meadville; hisdaughter, Angie Watson, of Eddiceton; his brothers, Altemon WattsJr., of Pearl, and Billy Watts, of Houston, Texas; hissister-in-law, Verbalee Watts, of Brookhaven; seven grandchildren;and two great-grandchildren
